Giants and Niners had good years. They're lucky the Warriors play in Oakland though haha

Best Sports City? They should only take cities with all 4 Pro teams. SF doesn't even have a NBA or NHL team. What a waste! New York eats SF for lunch, sorry to say.

go bay area! i'm usually just a sports fan, like for football and basketball. but when it comes to baseball go oakland a's!

i thought this past season the A's were going all the way. but they choked yet again. since the raiders are going to win the superbowl, had the A's won the world series, oakland would be #1. but as always go bay area! haha, that golden state 0.256 record is pitiful.

where are you bay area guys from? i was born in hayward (1982) but lived in fremont (1982-may of 2001) my whole life until i moved to union city (may of 2001-present).

alright time for bed, gotta leave for sacramento tomorrow at 9am :p

New York
Philadelphia
Detroit
Minneapolis

by that measure new york doesn't count because *gasp* the giants and the jets play, not just in a different city, but a whole different state!

Just like SF, it's because there's no room. I wouldn't call San Jose or Oakland part of SF, either.

I agree that a city should have 4 sports teams but they came to their results using a completely different set of specifications. They alloted points for team and individual player acheivements. I think that SF's relative young sports history and the Niners long run of success definitely helped.

New York should be number 1 on that list (and not just because I live here :D)

only cause SF doesnt have a nba team or nhl team that could possibly drag their percentage down. I think you would need at least 3 out of the 4 major sports leagues teams to even be considered the best sports city.

Wooo go San Francisco .. but the Bay Area in general, ROCKS.

Giants and A's. Niners and Raiders. Warriors, Sharks. .... if you travel a measly hour or so, you have the Sac. Kings! \

edit - spelling.

Amen to that, I am right in the middle of all of this!
I have two NFL teams that are in the playoffs and the Kings, they are good too.
I had two baseball teams that were great, now if only the Warriors and Sharks would get the idea, Northern California/Bay Area would be amazing for sports fans!

I think sharks got the general gist of the success idea...the warriors on the other hand...

I went to a Golden State vs. Sac. Kings game in Oakland and there were by far more Kings fans there than Warrior fans.
The tickets are cheaper and easier to get a hold of than tickets for Arco, it is pretty sad when people go to your home games to see the other team.

Think Lakers vs. Clippers (Both play in Staples...and Clip tix = much cheaper) ;)
