Maybe you haven't been there long enough, but the traffic there can indeed blow, it is a big city! But, that being said, San Anton is a pretty cool city.

I've enjoyed San Antonio all my life.

EDIT: But traffic does suck. It took me an hour and a half to drive 25 miles yesterday on my way home from work. No accidents or blocked lanes of any kind, just plain old traffic.

Well the majority of the reasons are just living in Texas. I am exempting Houston from Texas for this dicussion because I think that the world would be better off if it would just sink into hell like it should.

But really Texas does have some of the larger areas that still benifit from a low cost of living.

Wait until summer. When stationed there (Lackland/Medina Annex) for OSC it was very hot during the July/Aug time frame.

Welcome to Texas. I can't stand Austin anymore. Never spent too much time in SA. Corpus is growing on me though... I've been down in South Texas for nearly 6 years now. Same location, three different commands. :)

I went to boot camp during May. Felt like home again. I lived in Texas for 6 years, 3 of which was in San Antonio. The 6 years before that was Phoenix. I HATE the cold.

San Antonio is still in Texas and therefore, by definition, sucks. I'm still pushing my land swap with Mexico. Give Texas back to Mexico, Texans included. We get Baja and Sonora. If the Mexicans drive a hard bargain, we throw in Oklahoma. Then we build the border wall with machine gun nests, land mines, etc.

SA is nice but I'd rather live in Houston. because its the 4th largest city in the US (and of course the largest city in the south and Texas), real close to the beach, cheaper the SA (I think so at least), has a lot of jobs, and about half of my relatives live there. (and also has the best underground rap IMO)

Thats not too far from where I used to live. I lived right on Culebra, the subdivision I was in was called Timber Ridge, across from where Handy Andy used to be.

Right now, I live off of Babcock and Prue. Definatly a lot nicer than where I did live.

And yeah, cost of living in SA is really cheap.
