Would be amazing @ x1440 vs the 1080 but its basically two 27" 1080p monitors stuck together or one of the 4k HDR TV's cut in half.

I was just thinking this is like a curved 4K Samsung TV cut in half. It even uses the same stand as the TVs.

Yeah it's like a 55-60" 4k they sliced in half. I couldn't do only 1080 high but lots of people seem to like the 32-34" UW 2560x1080 monitors. > 1440 for me or bust :D. Maybe in a few years we'll see a 3000+ height UW 34"+ :)

I guess these are using VA panels. Supposedly 3000:1 native contrast which is pretty good. I could not find the nit value though.

Yeah I think all Samsung's are VA now since IPS is LG only and I can't remember what Samsung made that was similar to it. But their VA panels are much better than they used to be.

It's nearly the exact same size as a 55 inch 4K panel running a custom resolution of 3840x1080.

Freesync and high refresh rate I guess is what makes this have a purpose.

Right it's basically a 55" HDR 4k TV cut in half with higher refresh rate sold as a monitor :)

It used to be IPS panels had better color than VA. Is that no longer the case?

For regular color range it's still probably true. For HDR the superior contrast ratio helps VA, or so they say.
