SAMSUNG XL30 - LED Backlit? (better be for this price)

Samsungs' site doesn't say much. Couldn't find any info as to whether this is an LED backlit display. The price implies it is. I was just surfing newegg and came across this. One glaring mistake on Samsungs' part is not having an HDMI port. Maybe I'm asking too much from a $4,600 monitor?

Why are the brightness and contrast specs so low??

The low maximum brightness suggests LED backlighting. However, that alone won't make the monitor remarkably better than the other 30" ones. The main improvement will be with brightness uniformity across the screen, and a wider color gamut to a lesser extent. I wouldn't pay triple the price of the others for it.
