Intel was not in the business of selling silicon for normal profit margins so mobile presents a big problem for them. They will never see margins in mobile like they did on the desktop. But, they have little choice but to be in the game.

Intel focused so much on crushing AMD that they missed the opportunity to get into mobile early and gain dominance.

The ISA is irrelevant when it comes to Android, and the things most people do on a tablet doesn't require much raw processing power to begin with. All Intel can hope for is a sizeable battery life advantage as a selling point, and that is assuming manufacturers don't cripple their Atom machines.
