Question Samsung un55es7100 goes very dark during dark scenes

It seems like it has some sort of auto-dimming (for contrast maybe?) during dark scenes, but I can't find any setting to disable it. Any ideas appriciated

Maybe it's something to do with energy saver settings?

Hopefully my googlefu is strong enough ... but maybe somebody with first hand experience will fill in any gaps or give a better answer.
