I finally hooked up my main rig to my samsung tv, but I can't get it to work properly at it's native 1080p res.

What happens is that the edges of image "overshoots" the screen's limits, and I can't see half of my task bar, half of the first column of icons etc.

I've tried setting the resolution from both the nvidia c. p. and windows' display settings, but I can't get 1080p to work or 720p

For somne reason 900p kind of works, but it doesn't stretch all the way on the entire screen - it leaves black bezels. I am now running some weird res, 1768x992, which seems to work the best and leaves the smallest bezels, but it's predictably still crap.

Thats normal so to say. You adjust this in your graphics cards control manager. Its called underscan/overscan. Then you can enjoy the full 1080p.

Also check your TV settings, when running off my HTPC I had to adjust some sort of "Wide Zoom" setting and "Full Pixel"/"Pixel Mapping" options on my TV itself.
