An OTA update was released sometime last night that should enable the media hub. If you've messed with your phone at all (even so far as removing one of the built-in apps), it won't update. But just reinstall any of those apps and you should be able to get it.

If you want to download the patch instead, instructions and links are here:

It's pretty underwhelming, though. Movies are either $9.99 or $12.99 to buy, $2.99 to rent, and most movies aren't even available as rentals. TV shows are a ridiculous $2.99 per episode (to buy, don't know if there are any TV rentals). Even for 30-minute shows like South Park (which is legitimately free anyway!).

I'm not sure if there is any way to watch purchases or rentals on something other than the phone. I guess that's why it has DLNA, but how many people are there who own DLNA-compatible TVs and don't already have a better and cheaper system already in place for watching movies? And if it is only watchable on the phone, what's the point, and why so expensive?

I wasn't expecting anything other than this but it's still pathetic.

You know, I realized I didn't check to see if any of the other Galaxy S phones got the update. All I know is that the Epic (Sprint) did. I suppose the others didn't.

Oh, looks like you can get it here: http://androidfeens.com/?p=2812

I have an Epic so I haven't tested it, not responsible if your phone kills your dog, etc.

Anyone get the OTA update? I didn't.

Only people with the epic 4g got it. I got mine. Even when I opened the hub it says only viewable with 4g connection or wifi. Btw the quality is amazing but it is pricey. I'd rather wait for the net flix app

Worked great on my Vibrant. Thanks Astro. Looks like it has potential. Video is nice and clear. Just a bit pricey and selection is sparse, I assume it will get better with time.
