i'm looking for any info on the Samsung t240 monitor.

i'll be using it for mainly desktop usage, movies sitting from about 2-4 feet away, and cs:s.

should i be worried about anything? i know its a TN Panel but i can't afford the $600+ monitors.

the price i can get it at is around $280 shipped. how is this price?

it will be powered by my computer in signature, how will it do in CS:S at max settings native res?

I'm also curious as to what the resident LCD experts think of this monitor. LOUISSSSS, that price seems pretty damn good. Where are you getting it?

I just bought a 22" Samsung SyncMaster 2253BW 2ms, 8000:1 TN-panel LCD for $249.99 and I love it. Get the 24" Samsung for some glorious big-screen gaming!

No idea, give them a ring.

They are PST time based, just in case it helps.

so yea NCIX service SUCKS. i've been trying to call them for the past 48 hours and only got through once.

i dont even get to wait on hold even if i chose to. i get put on hold for 5 minutes (timed by my cell phone everytime) and then i get sent to a voicemail.
i LEFT a voicemail and nobody calls or emails me back. i write them a message (a ticket) and dont get responses back within 48 hours.

i'd rate them a c- in service...

and my monitor didn't even get shipped out yet

I think that's a pretty good price. Frankly, I think it's about time those TN panels started getting less expensive.

Need to call you bank and tell them you paced the order.
Then tell NCIXUS to try again.

How's it look? I'm thinking of getting the same monitor. Going to assume it's not a pretty glossy panel?

written by me from another thread
it is a pretty damned good monitor. i was moving up from a Viewsonic VX2025WM which i believe wasn't a TN panel so i'm actually downgrading in panel-technology. Picture quality seems identical to me and gaming is also amazing. i have NO problems playing fast paced-fps games and dont notice any blurring, ghosting or lag. i'm not sure what everyone is talking about TN panels having bad viewing angles. i put on a 1080p movie on my computer and moved back about 5 feet and watched it OFF CENTER about 3 body widths to the side of "center" and the picture quality was just as good. Vertical viewing angles? i dont even think its physically possible for me to look at the monitor from the bottom, my desk is in the way, this is a non-factor. this is my only 24in monitor experience and can only compare it to my viewsonic vx2025wm. the backlight bleeding is much better on the t240, on the Viewsonic, there would be an "X" figure of backlight coming from the corners in a dark scene or in a movie with black bars on top and bottom.

then panel itself isn't glossy and you cannot see your own reflection on the screen even with an all black or white picture in a bright room. the surrounding border IS glossy but its black so you can barely see reflections.

and +, DO NOT BUY IT FROM NCIX or NCIXUS, it took them over 2 weeks to ship it out to me WITHOUT telling me that i had to confirm the order w/ my credit card (so i was left guessing what took so long in the "payment processing" stage) AND WITHOUT telling me that the item went into backorder.
Their customer service is also out of whack, 1. you're not allowed to stay on hold for more than 5 minutes, they send u to a voicemail after that and they don't ever call back or respond to your voicemails. Out of the 50 times i called (5 minute hold times), i got through 4 times. what a POS
