Hi

I have recently bought a new Syncmaster 900NF monitor and I like it.

But it there is a few strange things about it.

1. When the monitor is powered on the picture doesn't fill the entire screen but after 20-30 min. it has grown to full size. Is that something that's supposed to be that way or have I got myself a defective monitor.
One of my friends said that his Sony did the same thing when it was new but it disappeared when it got older. Is it just because it is new?

2. When showing white I can see some vertical lines for every 2-3 cm. It's like some of the vertical wires are a litte darker than the other ones. Is that normal on a aperture grill monitor?

I know these questions might be somewhat odd but I'm new to AG monitors as I had a shadow mask before.

Hmm well the first problem you describe is quite common, although my Sony G400 doesn't have that problem. As for the secondp roblem you are talking about, i think you are referring to " ghosting ". IT happens when you see something against a black background and you see a thin vertical strip of whiteness next to the image.

Try doing a search on the forums for "ghosting".
