Samsung SyncMaster 700IFT scratches!

Can someone help me? I always thought Samsung made very good quality monitors, but I'm beginning to think it was not the case with the SyncMaster 700IFT. Three months after buying this monitor, I noticed that tiny scratches started to appear on the screen. Now, one year later, the screen is FULL os scratches.

Does anyone know if this monitor is known for having this problem? What could have caused this?
