Buy a Sony G400 and save some time. I bought the 900NF to start out with and it had a problem with text blurring left to right. I said ok and took it back. Got another and had the same problem. Returned it for a KDS AV 195-TF. Picture quality wasn't near as good as the 900NF but at least it was uniform. Had it for about a month and it started flickering and finally just died. Went and bought the most expensive 19 inch they had and I've been loving my g400 ever since. BTW KDS has a kick ass RMA policy.

I've had a Samsung Syncmaster 950p for almost a year now and have been impressed with its quality. In fact its actually better than the 19" trinitron Sony I have at work, in terms of its rich color. Think its the top rated monitor at PC mag (for what its worth). The prices on this monitor are usually in the 200 range, and is perhaps the best value among all 19 inchers.

Hot Deals has a thread on this.

It's a great monitor. And yes it is the 900nf. I won't go into anything about how it compares to others because you seem set on it and you can search the forums for much more opinions on it.

You're best off going with a place with free shipping. Not sure if Dell still has their big deals going around. There isn't much places with free shipping anymore so you might just have to find the cheapest place and pay shipping.

I bought into the hype of the 900NF, and was sorely disappointed. Having been using Sony monitors since 96, my eyes notice even the slightest imperfections. The earth's magnetic field seems relentless in my area, and was causing very bad problems with DiamondTron based monitors such as dark areas in the corners, and fuzziness. I didn't know it was the earth's magnetic field causing these problems until I picked up an NEC FE950+, though. I RMAed the 900NF 3 times and got tired of almost killing my back carrying these 55lb monitors up and down stairs, so I gave up on the 900NF. I got the FE950+ because the specs were very similar to the 900NF (they're both DiamondTrons) and about the same price. But, the FE950+ has a feature called 'GlobalSync' which allowed me to fix the problems caused by the earth's magnetic field. Now it's as consistent, sharp, and beautiful as an AG monitor should be. The moral of my story, is you can either take a chance with the 900NF, or get the FE950+. Whatever you choose, I hope you don't have any more problems than I did with it :)

supaflyNOS: I upgraded from a KDS 19VS to a SyncMaster 950P yesterday. What a difference. Everything about the 950P i.e., color richness, text sharpness, etc., is superior. By the way, I got my from mwave for $248. I had to pay CA sales tax but I was able to do a will-call and avoid the shipping charges.
