Samsung Spinpoint HDD

I've read a lot about how silent these hard drives are, but I haven't seen much about their performance. How do they perform compared to the other big names, ie Seagate and WD, especially in RAID? anyone have experience? I'm tempted to pick up two of the 160GB SATA2 models, $60 each...

http://www.storageReview.com has done reviews on several recent models. They have historically done well on server benchmarks and get shaded by others in the single-user arena. Low noise and cool running are the SpinPoint's claims to fame - not raw performance. But I doubt any normal user would notice significant difference in daily use.

If you're looking for silence (and high capacity) SPCR has recently declared the WD Caviar SE16 the quietest drive at seek they have ever tested
