NAND is most certainly not a "new" technology. Flash memory has been around for decades, and has been used in almost every conceivable application. The fact that we're now getting mass storage products based on it is completely a factor of economics not technology.

I know most of you on this thread hate me, so let's put things in perspective for at least just a moment, to remember what's really important instead of trivial petty bickering on unimportant things.

I lost my Dad yesterday. We could not have been closer. This is INCREDIBLY difficult. Please pray for us. My Mom adored him, and of course as did I. What's really even more devastating is it was to be their 51st anniversary today, the 6th. No one should have to do CPR on their father. I watched him go. I can never convey to you all how devastating that is. We ARE very thankful though that he just stopped breathing and it was instant, he never woke up, except he appeared to open his eyes and look up at me while I was over him, then he never closed them and I knew he was gone. Going quickly without any pain or long sickness is exactly what he wanted.

I knew this day would come, and soon, but NOTHING prepares you for this when it happens. We will never be the same, I will never recover from what I saw. I am mentioning this to put things into proper perspective, to put aside our unimportant arguing among all of you, all of us, because I believe in prayer. So I ask of you that you please remember us. We need ALL we can get.

Thanks guys. And please remember what really matters in life. It's not HD's, SSD's, benchmarks, etc., it's very life itself and how we treat others.

God Bless,
-Clint

My commiserations.

Don't worry about people hating each other here. they are just sharpening their intellect in a harmless way.

My condolences.
You are absolutely right, it is very important to keep things in perspective and not get too hung up on trivial matters.

I know most of you on this thread hate me,

Nobody hates you, that's going overboard a little bit. We just disagree with you, nothing wrong with that. Should we stop just because there are "more important things" in life? I fail to see the correlation.
My condolences on your loss.

This!

That part is awesome. I lost my wife in quick and simple accident, and am grateful that she didn't need to suffer a long illness, pain or stress.

My Grandmother was just over 100, when my aunt brought her to the doctor for her annual checkup. The Doc gave her a clean bill of health, and sent her home. She bent over to tie her shoes, said "Uh Oh!", and then just collapsed.

I wish everyone such a peaceful exit.

Wow, fisahk Ims sorry to here that, she is in heaven. Im very sorry thats tragic. Just keep your trust in God and move forward. thx gl

Guys be careful of loose cables and also make sure your drive is grounded as in screwed in really tight and its vibration doesnt cause it to perform less.. thx
