Hasn't been this low in nearly a year. Get em while they're not price gouging!

It shows warranty as 1 yr. Seems awful short. Was it always 1yr or is this something new started by Seagate?

Pretty sure it's the same as it always was, but I may be wrong. For $70, if it fails after a year I'll buy a new one. These were around $60 a year ago, and then flooding sent the price through the roof. I'm just glad to see them back close to where they were before.

They used to have a 3 yr warranty. I have one right now that's being shipped for RMA after ~2+ yr's of use.

You are. Before the flooding, Seagate offered a 5 year warranty on their OEM internal drives, Samsung 3 years, WD 3 for Blues and Greens, 5 for Blacks and REs, Hitachi was 3, and Toshiba was also 3.

Now, we're stuck with just WD and Seagate. WD Blues and Greens have a 2 year warranty, Reds are 3, Blacks and REs are 5. Seagates are all 1 year.

I got one of these for $50 shipped from newegg right before the flood. Glad to see the price almost where they were but 1 year warranty? I just checked the warranty on mine and I still have over 2 years left.

A 1yr warranty doesn't give me much buying confidence even at a low price point, it's such a pain when a drive dies even though I have important stuff backed up.

I think we have to accept this as a new standard -- a 1 yr warranty for a $60-70 product seems about right. If it were $100 or more, I might gripe. And, with everything from ice cream to toilet paper being physically downsized, this seems to be the next logical step for the evil corporations.

My first F3 1TB died @ 1 year. Refurb replacement died @ 6 months. Refurb replacement #2 currently still alive @ 6 months...

What in the world are you doing to kill off these poor things? D:

Manufacturers have flip-flopped before on warranty duration. Maybe they'll do it again in a couple years?

Using it like every other hard drive for the last 5 years. It's been ~7 years since my previous RMA (WD?). Still have two from 2006 or earlier running strong. To say my confidence is shaken would be an understatement.

Finally, prices for these drives are getting back to where they were. I paid $70 each for my 1TB F1s, and they just keep on going.
