Samsung Spinpoint F1 640 GB Hard Drives

I've read that the Samsung F1 line is having serious QC issues.

I'm wondering if the drives with two platters (640gb) will be faster than the drives with a single platter (320gb). I know with the raptors, having the second platter made no difference performance-wise.

I'm considering purchasing a 3200AAKS this weekend; they're only $75. I'm wondering how quick they would be in RAID-0.

That does look great! It scores a 13ms seek time vs. 16ms on the new WD drive, plus it's a little quicker in terms of overall thoroughput.

Now I guess I'm gonna have to wait for them to become available here.
