Samsung Spinpoint drives sure sound different...

I'm running a brand new Samsung 160GB PATA SP1614N hard disk and it makes these occasional hollow sounds. Sorta like a light tap on a cardboard box. The sound comes on every so often and I'm guessing it's the seek noise. Very different from my Seagate Cudas. I doubt you can hear the Samsung drive properly with it inside the case (mine is running outside temporarily), because I sure couldn't.

I was curious if anyone else noticed the same; I had a Maxtor once with bearing whine from the start and while the noise went away, soon after the drive went too. 🙁

I hate molex connectors and PATA cables. You gotta tug forever on those things!

EDIT: Ok, nevermind I lifted the drive off the box it was resting on and the sounds stopped. 😱 You hear almost nothing (very very soft/dull sounds while seeking) from the drive and that is a step up from my Cuda Vs.
