but newegg's description saids 2mb bufffer.... what gives ?

Should I have any worries with this combo drive?

I dont get it, if they BOTH say 8MB what's the problem? 8MB is a nice large cache for a CDROM though...

From samsung's website (why didn't you go see there ??), it says that it's an 8MB buffer if you buy retail and it's a 2MB buffer if it's bought bulk.

They also have a 52X model ...
you should check it out ...

Normally you should check the manufacturer's site before posting these things.
Both newegg and the review site were right.
