Samsung SH-S182D Firmware Problems

I recently built my new computer (specs below) with two SH-182D DVD burners I hadn't attempted to burn a CD (or any type of media) until today, when I tried to burn one through iTunes. It failed and it spit out a number of coasters.

My first thought was to update the firmware on the drives, so I went to the Samsung website and downloaded the update. There program registered both drives as version 'SB03' and the update was to 'SB04'. I followed the instructions in the readme file but I got a "Flash Cmd Failed" and now the update program displays that drive as version "BOOT". I tried again flashing it, and then tried flashing it to an older version 'SB03', and also 'SB01', I found through Google that some people had problems until they flashed it back to this version.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone had the same problem (this drive seems to be popular) or any ideas?

Thanks
