So a local is selling the Samsung S32D850T AMVA 1440P and the temptation of a 32" 1440p is big BUT I use my Qnix at 96Hz so I am afraid that 60Hz will be too annoying for me.
If I change back to 60Hz right now I can see how un-smooth it is but maybe the extra size will compensate for that.
Or maybe I should save and get one with faster refresh rate but thats probably gonna cost a lot more.
What you guys think?

This will be for a LOT of photo editing and some gaming too.

PS.
So I went to see it and while running the Valley demo I noticed several times when changing screens like one scanning line going from top to bottom once. I saw that too when looking at some Flickr photos but strangely enough only once per photo.
Not sure if his 280 card (I think it was) was having problems handling the Valley demo but I saw way too many artifacts that I do not see on my Qnix at 96Hz with my 980ti so while I loved the color and contrast, those things scared me away :/

I'd get one of the new 1440p Gsync monitors. There are several models out now. The way you worded your question makes it kind of difficult to find a solution for you, so I just said what I would do. I'd buy the new Acer or Asus model 27", 1440p, 144-165hz, IPS monitors with Gsync.

Flickering problem is real with older production dates... read about BenQ BL3200PT flickering problem - they both use same AUO panel.

I have the said monitor, I like it very much; but gaming is not my priority anymore. I wanted something that has tolerable text without need to zoom in.

Photo work - you're not going to like it too much. Although it has better blacks and no white glow (advantages over IPS), it does have some kind of vertical banding.
