Hi
I'm using the Samsung SyncMaster S27A850D (27" PLS, 2560x1440) for 6 month now and i'm very satisfied with this monitor.
Today I reinstalled Windows 8 on a new SSD and after I left the Desktop with a static image (only windows explorer open) for about 1.5 hours a silhouette of the windows explorer remained visible on the windows 8 start screen even after restarting.
I left a plain neon green image fullscreen for a few minutes, I thought it would remove the retention maybe. After going back to Desktop all the explorer windows were pink'ish and slowly changed back to normal white.
After a full power off, restart and settings reset of the Monitor the retention was almost gone and the delay when changing colors didn't appear again either.
Is this behaviour an indication of the Monitor going bad?
Edit: Nvidia Driver 326.19 set the output to 60Hz but according to the Samsung datasheet in the Manual the Monitor needs 59,951Hz at 2560x1440. Can this small difference cause such problems?
