Has anyone been able to use Samsung PC1066 Rambus ram in the Gigabyte 850e 8IXHP motherboard?
I thought at one time I read only Kingston 1066 work. Well now I can't find Kinston rambus memory and the Samsing it much cheaper.
Or is the 845g chipset that uses the DDR memory just as good?

Bump (I'd like this answered too)

Myself, I've tracked down 4x128mb of 1066 Mushkin RDram at a good deal...wonder if having 4 at 128 rather than 2 at 256 will cause a performance hit at all. I'm using the same Gigabyte mobo.

Here is a reply I got from Samsung. I asked them about their Rdram I see that MWAVE or Googlegear has.

Thank you for your inquiry to Samsung Semiconductor.

We have not released this product yet. It will be available in October after Intel launces 850E support for 1066MHz.

If you have any further questions, please send us an e-mail again or visit our Homepage(http://www.samsungsemi.com).

Comrade ZenMonkey,

Greetings from the peace-loving people of the socialist motherland.

You will definitely be better off using the two 256s + continuity modules than four 128s. The counter-revolutionary swine that have been spreading the rumor that you can do otherwise have confessed their foul deeds and will be tried.
