Just out of curiousity, do people actually carry extra batteries around with them every day? You know... just in case.

I do. Not that I need it all the time, but it is a lot easier & quicker than waiting to charge the phone. It is a lot easier than carrying a charging cable.

I used to with my sgs1, thaat thing had horrid battery life. My sgs3 lasts much longer so I have no need for a spare, my droid razr, man, I wish i could change out the battery on the razr, it is horrible.

Used to with my Droid, cuz the expanded battery was fucking huge and expensive, whereas a spare normal battery was about 5 dollars.

my WP7 has an extended battery thats reasonably sleek so I dont carry a spare any more. But I do make sure to bring a charger to school and use the car charger as well. Also most WP7 devices tend to be somewhat efficient so its not as big a deal.

Next phone I get will need to have a very good built in battery, like the RAZR Maxx, or an available extended battery that doesnt give the phone an odd shape.

i would if not for the fact that the case I put around my GNex is a pain to take off and put back on. I do have the extra battery though.

Why does Samsung like ads where it reminds the viewer about how popular the competitor is?

Yeah, the last set of SGS3 ads (while funny) don't really convince people to switch camps.

BAD
The one with the guy texting/watching a video. The guy couldn't even look at the people he was talking to because he was too busy in his own world of trying to text and watch a video. He couldn't even interact with people in real life.

GOOD
The one where they were in a hospital waiting for pictures and they rapidly shared pictures. That is what Samsung needs more of. Something showing a feature of the phone and how it's super useful to regular people.

The one in the OP makes fun of the users and not the device. I'm not really sure what that is supposed to accomplish. I guess Android fans will further cement their dislike of Apple and Apple fans will continue to dislike Samsung for saying they're basically idiots?

Reverse bandwagon.

If you recall from high school (or grade school in MN) we learned theres several arguments that, while logical fallacies, are still effective in motivating people to your side of the cause.

The bandwagon argument states you should do something because everyone else is doing it too.

The reverse bandwagon argument is you should do the opposite of whats popular, because anything thats popular is automatically lame.

They are both logical fallacies.
And they both work on the average American dumbass consumer. I might have purchased a Samsung a while back had it not been for their smug attitude. Made me feel icky just to touch one in a store. I just need something that does what I want and isnt a damn political or fashion statement. My ability to stay under the radar is more important to me than having the coolest tech, which will be outdated in 6 months anyway.

Yeah they were pushing the ability to share playlists and I'm thinking "that is such a retarded reason to buy an expensive phone".

The point of these commercials is "Why wait in line for something that still can't do what this amazing alternative can? You're being silly, stop it."

And yes, they should have used a better example than a fucking playlist for their beam example. Contact card, appointment, picture, link, almost anything would have been better.

That's pretty much what I got out of it as well. Even as an iPhone user I found the commercial to be very well done and quite entertaining. Then again, I never saw the point of waiting in line for days just so I could hand over a wad of cash either.
