Yeah... previous ads were shorter, more concise, and more "fun".

As I watch this one drags out, I get this message:

"Samsung phone is better than iPhone... DAMN IT! LISTEN! SAMSUNG PHONE IS BETTEEERRRRR THAN IPHONE!!!"

And it makes me think... that if Samsung has to make an ad about a rival phone that has huge lines of people waiting to get their hands on that phone, then what does it say about the Samsung phone that no one lined up to get?

^ I think most of the message is "don't be isheep, blah blah blah.."

and they'll likely cut it to 30 seconds for tv which would make it more effective.

I doubt they ran the full length commercial on TV.

I do have to say, love em or hate them (or don't care about them), they hired a pretty funny ad agency.

It's like poking fun at a religion or politics. The hardcore fans won't be deterred by this, and those who find it funny and true (like me) aren't that likely to be waiting in line for an iPhone.

Sammie's 'Next Best Thing' ads are always good for a laugh. :) Sadly, their portrayal of iFans is stunningly accurate. :/

Favorite scene is when the guy says he's just saving a spot for someone else, then his parents arrive and thank him for saving the spot.

Let's have a little contest, we'll see if you can clean up your act before I find all the times that you have used the term iFan in the past day or so. If I find enough, I win. If you stop using the term all the time, I win. I like this game.

Samsungs adds get better while Apples look to be getting worse....You'd think Apple would have better adds than they currently do. Guess advertising funds were moved to the litigation fund.

It probably takes a genius to make an ad, and they all got lost using iOS6 Maps. :p

Really pushing it now, but: "We're gonna get that, for sure! Maybe not this time, but next time... right?" cracked me up :D

REPOST!

Also, this shit needs to be in OT or something, cuz it really has no relevance to Mobile phone discussions at all. It just stirs up hate and discontent.

For folks saying it's too long. Think really hard.

This is the whole campaign spliced together.

Commercials will be selections from this.

There was a 90 second version of the original campaign, too. They'll cut it to 30 seconds for each commercial.

And yes, its hilarious how accurate these commercials really are.

Apple's commercials are focused more on what their phones can do rather than what the competitors phone does.

The commercial was funny and it got a laugh out of me but I doubt it's not going to change any minds. The people who want to buy the iPhone are going to buy it regardless of what anyone says and those that buy Android phones are going to buy Android phones regardless of what Apple says.

EDIT: Just saw this on the front page

So Nokia is going at Apple too lol.

Samsung commercials focus on what there products can do while poking fun at the sheep. I see no issue with it. Guess it is somewhat fighting Apple with and Appleistic way such as the mac vs pc campaign.

I agree the sheep will flock to the new iphone no doubt. The average consumer I'd hope would pick the phone thats features best fit them.

It's the people taking the smartphone plunge that don't know any better. Samsung is just trying to educate the consumer about features not available on the iphone but available on the SGS3.

Features aren't everything though, I am personally choosing to go back to the iPhone even though I have a HTC One X right now. I prefer the iOS look and the way Apple handles their devices through tight integration of the hardware and software.

For new customers it's much better if they go to the store and actually use the phones side by side and pick what they want from there. Spec sheets don't tell the whole truth.

If only crossing off a spec sheet were that simple. The iPhone is an all around solid device that can't be beat by a checklist.

You are right. But it can be beat by simply using another device. One that has a removable battery, removable storage, more features, higher quality screen, user customization...you know , real world stuff.

Which is funny cuz when they have superior technology that means nothing in real world usage they still ram it down everyones throat.

EDIT:
Not saying they make an inferior product cuz they really dont, but the hypocrisy of how they present themselves is sometimes irritating.

Apple has never been a spec whore. They don't release ghz this ghz that. They just state "this is so and so faster", which in most cases in the real world it is.

Don't need a removable battery, I hate carrying batteries. Don't need removable storage, I'd rather have proper universal storage and not fiddle with app partitions. I prefer the retina screen than pentile shit. Customization is good, but Android UI is crappy. Everytime I hear customization, I think of MySpace. Yeah you can customize the hell out of it, but it looks like shit.

Just out of curiousity, do people actually carry extra batteries around with them every day? You know... just in case.

If you count the battery case I use with my 4S, then yes I do. Does it have to be "every day" for it to be a worthwhile feature? I have had a couple of brutally long plane rides where being able to pop in a spare battery would have been nice, but that certainly isn't an every day occurrance.
