Probably a decent deal but the prices of DDR are going down and it is prudent to wait just a little.

I've been looking at getting all sorts of different types of memory over the last couple of days. I was originally going to get some corsair 3200c2 for use in a a7n8x but i now hear that its hard to get double sided ram to run up to and over 200 mnz in twinbank mode on that board. I was thinking of getting hyperX by kingston now I'm really not sure what to do. Do you think theres any way to ensure that i have the good samsung chips, I thought i read that the stuff with a D in its number wasn't as good as the stuff with a C that was in a review of 2700 i believe. anyone use the hyper x stuff? I'd like to run around 200mhz or so with aggressive settings.

Not to dampen the mood but Samsung PC3200 has been a pretty dismal performer for just about everyone, ymmv

googlegear does not have SAMSUNG ON SAMSUNG. It is Samsung on generic. Read the description carefully. Besides even if you get samsung on samsung it is the dtl version.

Newegg has it (original samsung) for $137. Be aware, though, that the RAM is rated @ CAS 3. I think you're better off with Samsung original DDR333 @ CAS 2.5 (which should do CAS 2 no problem).

Another note of caution is that Samsung sells the same chip as 2700 and 3200 meaning the 3200 are only tested better not manufactured differently. Which means it is probably no better than a decent Samsung 2700.
