At Microcenter they're selling this monitor, open box for $378+tax:

I was considering picking up a QNIX monitor off of eBay for $299 shipped, but I noticed this Samsung has a USB 3.0 port, as well as 2 DVI and a DisplayPort input. It has built in scaling as well and a nice stand. The warranty would also be nice.

Is it worth almost $100 more to you to purchase this Samsung over a cheap eBay monitor?

And does anyone know if this is the same PLS panel as used in those eBay monitors?

The monitors with multiple inputs have bad input lag. Stick with the DVI-only version for gaming.
Plus you can't OC the Samsung PLS Screen with multiple Input Ports. Stick with the Single Dvi-D Port and recommend Monoproce 24AWG Cable if you intend to go the 120Hz QNIX 2510 Evo II Matte Samsung PLS Display route as follows:

For approx +or - $300 for a South Korean QNIX 2510 Evo II Matte display off Greensum on eBay plus another $30 for the Monoprice 24AWG DVI-D Cable - Add Tax and Shipping - You will not regret it ;o)

BEST deal on the Market today for a 1440p Samsung 120HzPLS Display.

Thanks for the input. Right now I'm running an old Dell 3008wfp and I'm not bothered by the input lag on DVI-D at all. However the higher refresh rate *would* be nice.

I suppose that I could keep the big 30" around for "mainstream" tasks, or where I need to scale, and use the QNIX for a high res secondary monitor.

It's open box because it's a piece of crap that somebody returned. The Microcenter in Houston had a stack of those "Korean IPS" monitors that had been returned. BTW they're not Korean, they're made in China.

Should I add that you may require either a 290 or 290X with at least a SB 2500 all under water.
