This Samsung NP900X3C has me stumped. Upon starting the laptop, it boots straight into BIOS. Not only that, but the keyboard and touchpad don't respond right away. I have to wait a few seconds to make any changes.

However if I start up the computer and press F10 right away (boot menu) and select the SSD. It boots into windows no problem and I'm able to use the touchpad and mouse right away.

SSD is the #1 boot device in BIOS. I tried loading default configuration. I installed a fresh version of windows 8.1.

Any help would be much appreciated.

My first thought is a stuck key. Have you tried cleaning out the key that triggers BIOS entry?

One other thought is that auto BIOS entry is usually triggered by a setting the board does not care for, and takes you into the BIOS to correct it. Most BIOSes I have worked with give you are trigger for this (F1, for example) but not all.

I downloaded an application that shows on screen what button is being pushed, and sure enough F1+ F2 are causing me trouble. Randomly being detected as pushed and if I click either of them, they remain in the pushed down status for quite a while. All other buttons work fine.

Now to figure out how to fix this.
