Samsung Monitor repair

Has anyone every had to get a Samsung monitor repaired under warranty? My lcd has a horizontal line from left to right. Also once in a while my screen will look like a light bomb went off. I got it in August of 2006. Shouldnt this be covered under warranty?(i believe samsung are 3 years warranty/ Parts) The monitor hasnt been dropped nor mishandled. Other than the shipping did anyone have to pay anything? I sent an email to Samsung and am waiting for them to reply
