Samsung monitor problem

Hi Guy's,
Lately my monitor has problems staying lit after being shut off, or on screen saver for a while. When first started the monitor flickers rapidly the goes blank. I have it hooked to a KVM 2port usb/dvi I eliminated that as the source. I have to switch rapidly between the ports 6-8 times before the monitor will stay lit. No problems after that, looks as good as the day it was bought. After extended period of no use screen saver black out I have to repeat the port switching and it is fine again. Of course this started 4 months after the warranty ran out. I'm just guessing here but since it works fine once it stays lit, it may have something to do with the backlight. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance to those that reply,

What kind of Samsung? There are known issues with monitors like the 204B, 204T, etc., where some of the big capacitors would bulge.

But it's very easy to fix, and the replacement capacitors cost about four dollars plus shipping. I wonder if you have a bulging capacitor? You can easily check, and look online for guides on identifying bulging capacitors and how to easily open up the monitor and swap them out (and places to order the correct rated replacement capacitor).

Is it no longer attached to the KVM?
