Hi, am looking at buying some PC2700. Is Samsung any good? I can get it for about £12 less than Crucial so this is why I am wondering. Also, 2700, worth it over PC2100?

edjam, does your board support PC2700? If so, go for it. If not, you won't see any benefit. Is it original Samsung? There are sticks out there w/ Samsung chips, but on third party PCB. Make sure it's Samsung chips on Samsung PCB.
 
Thanks Jeff. Good question actually, now that I have actually used my brain for once, the ECS K725A only supports PC2100 doesnt it? I mean, would it be better to go for a better board? I am trying to keep the cost reasonably low you see, as I don't need all the overclocking features, or other stuff such as RAID because I already have a RAID card etc. And does the Athlon XP 2000+ even support anything more than 266Mhz?

Probably stick with Crucial, didn't realise that Smasung sold chips independently.
 
Unless you wanna do some serious overclocking or have money to burn, I don't see too much point in spending the extra $$ on PC2700 RAM for Athlon systems, since they really can't use the extra bandwidth w/o overclocking.
