The new version is very streamlined compared to the older versions making them seem like bloatware.

If you have been up to date with Samsung Magician, you may already know they have released version 5.0, but if you’re not, now you do. The latest version features a refined GUI and a few changes to the features list. It also adds support for the latest Samsung 960 EVO and PRO SSDs and is compatible with Windows 7, 8, and 10.

Interesting. I have 4.9.7, and it tells me I have the latest version. Perhaps because I "just" have an 850 EVO?

It seems 4.x doesn't auto update to 5. You have to download the installer and update manually.

So far I'm liking it. It's more streamlined, less bloated, and it seems they've removed a bunch of useless Windows "tweaks" that were only beneficial on older versions of Windows.

I installed the new version downloaded to monitor my new 960 EVO M.2. In another thread, I was benchtesting my caching strategy with this EVO using Anvil, and noticed that Magician will benchtest any drive connected to the system in addition to the Samsungs. I'm just wondering how accurate such benchtests might be. If they're reasonable, I've built a helluva system this year.
