Samsung Magician 4.3 and 840 Pro - no RAPID mode

My 840 Pro has the latest firmware, but Magician reports that RAPID mode is not available for my drive. The drive doesn't appear in the target list, either.

Has anyone else had this problem? Getting good tech support on this issue from Samsung has been difficult.

I thought re-flashing the firmware might help, but I can't figure out how to do that when Magician says I have the latest version. It doesn't give me the Create Boot Disc options.

That was true until the new 4.3 version. It now supports the 840 Pro--or so Samsung says.

Update: Magician now recognizes the drive, and says RAPID mode is available, but when I try to enable it I get a "fail" message.

I have the 840 Pro and 840 EVO. Rapid mode works on both.

OP, does Magician say "Genuine"? Are you running Magician 4.3? If so, maybe try uninstalling it, reboot and try downloading and installing it again.

Do you have IRST installed? If so, may have to uninstall that temporarily.

Got it working. Wiped the partition, restored from an older backup, uninstalled/reinstalled Magician, and everything is fine. All I can figure is that some necessary driver file or other was missing or bad, or I got careless in a registry cleanup.
