They are S-PVA I believe since they developed the technology and share their panels with Sony also and is supposed to be the best compromise for LCD TV sets.

Might want to have someone else confirm this though.

Unless you really like unreliable displays and terrible customer support I would suggest looking somewhere other than Samsung!

If you want help in picking out a TV, let us know the following: viewing distance, sources, lighting conditions of room, budget, and size limitations (i.e. must fit in 37" wide entertainment center, wife will divorce you for getting larger than 37", etc.). That should be a good start.

I think you should look at the LN37C650. This is a newer panel (just release). It will probably be cheaper and higher quality. Probably the 40 inch is a better deal.

Here is a link that might help. I found some sources on www.bing.com that were selling the LN40C550 under $700.00 Might try Bing to look for want you want and find a lower price for the 650 series also.

This seemed like a good website, but I never shopped there:

http://www.electrozone.com/search.aspx?si=&sp=ln40c650

You may find some other info you like better.

You may want to look and see what kind of problems other people have had with LCD TV's made by samsung as compared to other products. I am looking right now and have not made up my mind.

From what I recently read, the TN panels only offer 6 bit color debth while the Super IPS panels offer 10 bit color debth; many people keep saying the color on TN panels suck. My monitors are all TN panels so I don't know the difference. The viewing angle is apparenly better too. 178* by 178* (may differ) With LED you also use less watts (greener)

So, I'm looking for first of all, not a TN panel, the electric bill is in mind, 37" would be perfect...

Just go and look. Yeah, it could be better, but what is it worth if you yourself can't even tell the difference? With any LCD the viewing angle is bad.
