Samsung LCDs

Does anyone know how Samsung LCDs rate in terms of response time. I went to CompUSA and impressed by how nice the Samsung 760 looked. It cost's $750 and there is a $100 mail in rebate. I think the rebate is because the 770 is (has) replaced the 760.

I just want to know if this particular model is suitable for gaming. Otherwise I may go with the Planar 17.4 w/ the USB hub from Dell which they are out of stock on at this time.

Here's a link to the Samsung 760 page. There's a bunch of specs on it. I got one a few months ago when they first came out. The 760 actually replaced the 770 (seems backwards, but true). I love it. I'd never go back to a CRT. Works fine for me in games but I'm not super-hardcore. I've never seen any ghosting at all.

If the specs for this monitor say analog RGB, does that mean the DVI output on my Radeon 8500 is useless? Should I look for a different LCD that has DVI input?

The Radeon 8500 comes with a DVI to VGA adapter. Will that do the trick or do you need a LCD that has native DVI support to get true DVI?

Yes, it's analog only. The DVI to VGA adaptor on your Radeon 8500 is what you'd need to use.

I had the original Radeon AIW and I've found the DVI to VGA to be better than the VGA on my GF3 card, but still not up to the quality of DVI. Your experience with the Radeon 8500 may or may not be the same.
