Just fired up my new Samsung ML-2010 ($50 amr from BB) and it prints quite nicely. However, I noticed the Samsung install software added a new program in my active tray, the Status Monitor software.Support is extremely light, but from what I've seen this program polls the printer every 3 seconds and reports if there are any errors, as well as during printing.
I am going to use this printer maybe once a week and don't expect using it for more than 300 or so pages a year. Do I really need this program? I just built this computer instead of Dell because I wanted to keep it simple and uncluttered. If it is not really necessary I'd rather uninstall it and if I need it down the road I'll re-install it.
Any thoughts most welcomed.
Thanks!
