Agreed with that. Any $650 laptop has low res today. Hard to find a good screen nowadays.

At work we've got a Sony i7 with a 16.4" 1920x1080 display..Blu-ray, Nvidia graphics, i7...oh I want it so bad. But it's $1250 :( I kind of wish I was actually going to community college and had classes there so I could have an excuse to buy it. :awe:

Not a good deal since its refurb. You can get Lenovo IdeaPads for that price NEW.

Yes, high res screen will run you minimum $900-1000. Look at HP dv6/dv7 with a good coupon ($250+ or 30% off). They're one of the few CTO machines that get regular discounts too.

Since you are the smarter one here fbrdphreak. Show us a Lenovo Ideapad configured like the deal above that costs about the same.

Same with the HP's. I tried and they dont add up even with the discounts.

None of your suggestions are even close to that price or the prices you say you can get with a discount.

I lucked out on the bay. Not sure how. Nabbed an HP i7 Elitebook 8460P with the 1600 x 900 screen for $880 shipped. Nicest laptop I have ever owned.

Yeah, the deals the last couple weeks have been lame, but here's a quad-core Y560p with 8GB RAM for $829:

HP also isn't running great discounts right now. You get a good week of deals maybe every 1.5-2 months
