I recently got around to trying out this HDD I had purchased. I got the following results with HD Tune..? I ran it three times.. same deal.

Seagate's Website state's it has an important Firmware update...? When I run their program, it restarts the computer but doesn't find the HDD... is it because it's in the darn Enclosure & connected by USB ??

Disk Check & HD Tune's check resulted in no errors?

I deleted the partition & recreated in Disk Managment.. still didn't change anything.
Also... the drive shows up as just JMicron to multiple programs, such as HD Tune.

Any suggestion?

Connected HDD directly to mobo via Sata cable. Windows recognized it & found new drivers for it. I believe that was the major issue. No drivers were installed ever because the external enclosure wasn't allowing Windows from recognizing it as a Seagate drive?? Updated the firmware as well since the HDD was blank.

Connect the HDD direct to your PC and try the firmware update. Then put back in the enclosure.
