I had my heart set on getting a 50" Panasonic Commercial model TH-50PH9UK until I read some posts over at AVS regarding this Samsung.

I've decided to go with this model instead. What I can't seem to find out, is their warranty terms on these. Is it in home? This was my main drawback on the Panasonic. Service Center only on the commercial models.

I'd love to buy brick and mortar, but I can't justify $500 more versus online.

But first I have to get Dishnetwork out here to make sure I have a LOS for HD. My Dish 500 won't work for HD.

Amazon service info: "...with in-home service on qualifying products."

NewEgg's service contract: "On-Site service will be provided for all televisions with a screen size equal to 25" or larger, and for all projection televisions"

The contract prices at Amazon are better but the company does seem to have some difficulty getting the initial documentation into buyers' hands.

They've both changed overnight. I guess that just shows you have to watch these things closely to get the best deal. I'm betting that we'll see the same or better deals around Black Friday.

Won't Curcuit City match online prices and beat by 10%? That is what I was planning on for my purchase. I asked a couple instore reps and they confirmed it.

You might want to talk to a manager. Circuit City's price matching policy is that they will match only online sites for local stores. You can match to Fry's if there is a Fry's store in your area but you can't match to an Internet-only vendor such a Amazon or NewEgg.

Note that this set does not have a cable QAM tuner, so you can only get HD over the air if you don't have a cable or sat box.

I got this TV at CC over blackfriday. It was an unadvertised special for $1799. I couldn't be happier with the picture. Pure sex.

I got this BF deal too, but Buyer beware. AVS forums confirm that lots of people are having probs with this TV. Issue is a loud buzzing sound that is constant. From the reviewers' descriptions, it is no trivial noise either. Many have had Samsung tech reps in home to diagnose with no luck at all.

Mine is sitting in my living room still unpacked. Much as I hate to lose this deal (IMHO it was the best BF TV deal this year price-wise), it's going back Saturday. :(
