That's a killer price. I have this set - I paid $2199 locally a few months ago, and it was a great deal at the time.

Wow, I almost talked myself out of getting a new TV in lieu of some much needed PC upgrades. Now I'm reconsidering again. Awesome deal.

*sigh*

I believe it's neither - the HLRXX67Ws have the HD4 chip, an updated version of the HD3. It's still a wobulated chip.

Do you notice the lag on the display? particularly when playing video games. apparently there's somesort of processing delay in upscaling the resolution. Seems that some DLP's have it and some don't and it's also a subjective thing where a lot of people don't even notice it.

People get around it on DVD's by passing the audio through the TV (so the TV processor can also delay the audio), but that won't do for video games. Xbox360's running at 720p supposedly work because they don't require the extra upscaling/downscaling processing.

I plan on hooking up my old Super Nintendo too. I may have to drag my SNES to a B&M and ask them to test it out.

I have tried looking for this lag on my XBox and can't detect it. Others may differ, and it may be that the XBox doesn't produce lag because it doesn't require the set to deinterlace, just upscale - the SNES would require both. I use a Sony upscaling DVD player and there is no lag whatsoever. I see a teeny bit of lag on some cable TV channels, but not on others. I don't find it a problem on any source, but YMMV.

EDIT: I pass all my audio directly into my receiver, and all video directly to the TV. I don't recommend passing audio through the TV before sending to the receiver, because the TV cannot output Dolby Digital, except for the ATSC tuner output.

I know they are talking about making the 720p the standard, but I;m worried about buying a $1800 TV w/o 1080i. I'll have to look at thes and the Sony Grand Wega tomorrow.

My 2cents.....

CES in just round the corner, and I guess Samsung has some new models that will be released. You can expect all the *67W models
to drop a little more.

I would be more worried about it not supporting 1080P. That is the future...

Not for a long, long long time...
Actually, the standard the FCC has mandated is 720P/1080i... NOT 1080P
1080P will most likely be reserved for HD-DVD's / BluRay... but I think it will be a niche market even then.

What he said. That is why B&M stores just dropped the price in the last week. I am waiting for a 1080p/60fps TV but I am getting impatient.
