It's a screenshot. People can notice all that but don't notice the screenshot icon right there in the notification bar? The lock screen would turn off after a short time. They took a screenshot of the lock screen and then set the phone to display the image via the gallery.
Some people are blind to what is right there and doesn't fit their agenda.
I was wondering about that step. I guess setting to keep the lock screen at full brightness and on is much smaller in duration than the setting to keep an open app at full brightness and on.
So why the lock screen instead of something more interesting? I'm guessing it's all about that wallpaper. In a whitebox like that, the display is going to look like crap and so they really need something at full brightness and with super vibrant colors to make it look good for the commercials. So I'm guessing that's why they went with the lock screen vs a home screen where the icons could look really dark and ugly.
So yeah, imo, no faking, but also it's not intentional (mimic a cold and freezing phone)
