Hi fellow Anandtech members.

I just wanted to run this problem by some others to see if anything else could be wrong.

I have had my galaxy s for over a year now. I am very happy with it, except for the current problem.

I spilled some beverage on my desk and kind of soaked it.

So I turned it off, pulled it apart and let it dry.

Now I have the following problem.

Whenever I use it for anything except phoning and texting, like if I open the kindle app or the web browsing app, usually in less that 5 min it dies and I have to pull the battery and then plug it in to charge it.

If i leave it plugged in while in use, its fine.

This is the sign of a screwed up battery correct?

I just want some opinions before I blow money on a new battery

Well I have talked for more than 15 minutes and the battery acts normal ie it just slowly drains.

Also, if I use my music app, with my headphones it dies in like 5 min.

But if i use those phones to talk on phone it goes on like normal.

Once it died in the middle of texting my boss, but that was after not being plugged in all day and with wifi on.
