Samsung Galaxy 10.1 WiFi Problem

My Samsung Galaxy 10.1 (2014 edition) is about a year old. Since the last upate, the WiFi has been scanning every few seconds. This causes the device to lose connectivity briefly before reconnecting. As you can imagine, this is a huge PITA. I have rebooted the tablet, rebooted the router/modem, done a full factory reset, taken it to the Geek Squad and a Samsung Rep (who reinstalled the update), changed some settings on the tablet, and basically tried everything that I can think of, to no avail. We don't have any problems with any other devices at home (laptops, smart phones, other tablets), our WiFi channel is not over crowded, and the problem also occurs on other networks. I am at a loss, and a WiFi tablet that can't maintain a connection to the internet is basically useless. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Have you tried disabling Google location reporting under your Google account settings? I vaguely remember a horror story like yours and if memory servers it had something to do with Google services.

We will give that a shot. We could not replicate the issue at best buy with the Samsung guy where it was purchased, but they were running 5ghz wireless and have about 50 ap's in the store.

I too have recently begin to notice a problem with my Tab Pro 10.1 losing wifi connection for unexplained reasons and reconnecting but I only notice it once or twice per day. If this is a fixable problem, I'd like to know how too.

My Note 8 started to develop some wifi quirkiness as well. I set it to turn off when sleep from the beginning, but recently wifi didn't come back up when it wakes up. In fact, I couldn't turn wifi back on unless I switched airplane mode on and then turn the wifi back on.

However, after a while I realized that wifi does indeed turn back on when it wakes up from sleep, but I just thought there was no connection because there is no wifi icon present! So the solution is to just ignore that there's no wifi icon after waking up from sleep, and just do what I need to do. The connection works normally!

I was facing similar problem but sorted out very soon by switching off the geo-location. It was amazing that later on it started working fine like the day 1.

Well what do you know, that actually fixed my problem completely!

I never even turned that on knowingly as I have no use for it, and must have tapped on it accidentally while going through the settings.

Thanks for mentioning it!
