Samsung F3 1TB 7200rpm drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822152185

This is a favorite of the forums, and while it's been cheaper once or twice, this is still a steal for a 1TB drive. Best deal out there. Fast, relatively quiet, nearly unmatched among 7200rpm drives for use as an OS drive.

Currently $60 at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Spinpo.../dp/B001U3S5S0

Nice. I usually wait because Amazon will match the Newegg prices after a short time.

They have these on sale so often that I'm actually starting to get a nice collection of them for my WHS. I'm going to have to get a bigger case if I buy anymore.

Are these as fast and reliable as a Seagate 7200.12 or WD Blue? Pretty much all these drives are the same price these days, so I buy based on brand, and honestly I've pulled a lot of DEAD samsung's from PC's over the years...granted they are all drives from the 2003-2007 era.

I haven't seen many dead Samsung laptop drives, they're mostly desktop drives, 120GB, 160GB, etc.

Ive seen quite a few people have to deal with many rma's with these. I stick with WD blacks personally. Id rather have 5 year warranty anyways.

Also, I think this is pretty much the normal price. Ive seen these on sale for $40-$45 in the past. $60 at amazon is pretty much the same price as $55 at newegg for people who pay tax.
