That hasn't been my experience with this drive, but, then again, a lot of people would consider the fans in my Antec 900 case to be loud even though I don't think that they are, so...

HDDs don't get much cheaper than $50...of any size. A 160gb is $40. Still, for a 50 dollar bill, this is lots o' drive.

Not trying to revive an old(ish) thread, but I rec'd my drive on Monday. I was very surprised by the fast shipping and the packaging was much better then with Amazon on these drives. Unfortunately the plastic clamshell had opened during shipping so the drive was free to move around more then I was really comfortable with. Definitely a great deal though
