Stupid. Oh well, I already don't intend to get another Samsung phone after the crap like knox and bootloaders with the GS4 (which I still like but I'm tired of Samsung shennanigans).

The next phone I get will probably have at least 64GB standard internal storage so I don't even necessarily need a microSD card anymore.

What upsets me about this is that one of the things I LOVE about Samsung is the fact that they build a phone for all these overpriced accessories. Why? Because it enables capabilities without hacks (ala iPhone) that Chinese knock off products can take advantage of.

For example, I would have NEVER bought that Qi back for my S4, at least not for even 40% of its retail price. But I have a ten dollar accessory that does the same thing.

I mean, I buy Samsung stuff when it is better (for example I have real S-View cover and Samsund battery charger), but I like having options. I would think Samsung, king of copying, would get that!

I am certainly not buying an S5. When my S4 no longers gets GPe updates I will switch to someone else (maybe Moto?).

This is what happens when one company gets to monopoly levels of dominance.

Don't assume that something is done out of malicious intent when it can be explained by a shoddily written update. Especially when that update is written by Samsung. :D

I'm guessing this is international folks installing the Polish 4.4.2 Note 3 update? Isn't Poland basically Samsung's test kitchen before things get rolled out to the rest of the world?

For all we know this a test run if/when they do decide to turn off 3rd party accessories. Seeing how the public reacts and all. :p

As the saying goes: never attribute to conspiracy what can be explained by incompetence.

If a company wants to limit accessory support, you'll know. Apple is pretty transparent about it (and that's fine, as long as you know what you're getting into).

I think you're giving Samsung way too much credit in both strategic planning and coding updates. :D
