Samsung deX or Cable Matters cDock for TV, internet?

I like the idea of using one of these and ditch my cable service. Curious what experience users have had connecting to hdmi and whether you actually got 4k def.

Max res supported by Dex is 1440p.

I did exactly this. Land based service is canceled and now DeX how we use our TV. Works pretty good! DeX is limited to 1080p or 1440p depending on the model.

The phone does not have the bandwith to support 4k streaming even if Dex did...

DeX Pad was only about $38 on eBay.
