There's nothing wrong with a 3.4" screen. It's obviously a low-end phone. Not everyone wants a top of the line phone.

The Continuum was rumored to be the next Google Nexus brand. With those spec's, I think we can consider that rumor squashed. Not that it had much traction to begin with.

I'm still in the market for a new phone, but none of the current Android phones can best the original Droid. Sad. It makes me.

It was to my knowledge that the continuum and nexus 2 were two separate phones by Samsung. The Nexus 2 basically being a Galaxy S (4" SAMOLED) running 2.3 stock, and also having a front facing camera. The only thing holding back the other Galaxy S is 2.1, Touchwiz, GPS (fixes on the market), and for the VZ version, that stupid Bing software (also fixable). A stock Galaxy running 2.2/2.3 would be amazing.

There's many Android phones better than the original Droid.

What Android needs is a Nexus 2 with a 4.3 SAMOLED, Stock Froyo, and with Samsung Galaxy S internals without the GPS issues.

Throw in a front facing camera and you'll have a pretty sweet Android device. So far, most if not all Android device is missing something that makes it the Android phone.

I haven't kept up with the rumors of the Nexus 2. If those are the specs and it comes true, I think it'll be a great device.

Everything except Froyo. It was (is?) supposed to ship with Gingerbread.

I gave up on following it since its just the i9000 Galaxy S with naked Gingerbread. There were a few rumors that it would ship at 1.2GHz but that sounded like the same CPU with stock overclocking.

There are just too many rumors to follow. I'm going back to my theory of not caring until its available to purchase.

Just give me i9000 Galaxy S without Samsung's junk proprietary RFS file system, and I'll be happy. I don't care if it has Eclair, Froyo, or Gingerbread. Just get rid of that RFS!

BTW, rudeguy are you back on Vibrant? After saying this?
This is the first phone I have ever owned that I literally hated. Even though the G2 isn't rootable ATM, I'll take an HTC on its worst day over any Samsung on its best day.

yep

They got a couple different Froyo builds that pretty much work (except the GPS) and even got the FFC working if you do the mod. There was no hope in site for the G2 to get permanent root. I followed the work on in closer than I care to admit (monitoring IRC chat logs, etv) and there was no gains. Then Tmo started advertising it as a mommy phone.

You know about the Voodoo Project, right? Unfortunately, the conversion won't make it to any official (non-Nexus, anyway) Samsung kernels.

Yes, I know about Voodoo, EXT2, and Z4mod. I'm currently running Bionix Final rom with Project Core 1.2ghz kernel and RyanZA OCLF 2.0 lagfix. Black buttery smooth. It's a shame Samsung ruined beautiful hardware with such terrible file system.

Learn to read.

Every single person discussing this possibility already knew what the Continuum was.

I don't always read all the comments, but the articles initially referenced the Continuum as being the next Nexus device. Doesn't matter now though, the Continuum is most certainly not going to be a Nexus device.

Question then becomes, will there be another Nexus phone from Google? I'd like to see one.
