Samsung CDRW?

Samsung CD drives are not known to be reliable. My Uncle has a Samsung 32X CD-ROM. It works but the noise it makes is REALLY annoying. It makes a very high pitched whine. I would recommend that you stay away from Samsung. If you want a good drive I would recommend Panasonic.

It's the one Creative Labs is supplying with some of its 8432 kits (RW8435E, 4 meg buffer, RW8432E with 2M buffer is Plextor or Sony). I've had mine for only a few weeks, no problems, not very noisy, but I get a slight swishing sound from the plastic clamp that clamps the hole against the bearing whenever a disk is in the drive just idling.
