Samsung Camera Digimax V3 Leaking?

I just put in a fresh pair of Duracell AA rechargables in my cam. and snapped some pics. Turned the camera off, with batt. still in there and went away for a few hours. Come back, and now the battery level is half what it used to be. It's ate up my non-rechargables in about 1-2 days with the camera off. Is this common for this camera? Do I have to take the batteries out when not in use?

If the alkaline batteries were old at all, its possible they weren't at full capacity anyway.

Digital cameras are a high drain load, something that alkaline batteries don't deal well with.. they will go dead very quickly.

Invest in a high quality charger, like the Maha C401-FS. The charger is more important to the performance of your batteries than anything else, but I recommend the Powerex 2200mAh AA batteries. They're amongst the best available right now.
