Here is my situation: My linksys wireless router is connected to the cable modem in my bedroom. I can reliably connect to the wireless from that room as well as the kitchen and the living room but not from the second bedroom. (I live in an apartment in NYC.). If I try to use my laptop or iPad in the second bedroom, the signal is weak and often drops. Today I bought a Samsung blu ray and connected in very easily to the Samsung LED TV in that second bedroom. Initially, I was able to connect to the wireless when setting it up, but, as I feared would happen, subsequent connections were unsuccessful. It does not seem very likely that I will be able to stream any movies to the blu ray, at this point.
I need to come up with another way to connect the blu ray to the Internet. I thought about a second cable modem but from what I've read that's not doable. Do I have to hard wire the blu ray to the modem in my bedroom? That would take a pretty long Ethernet cable and I can't even figure out how to actually route it as I'd be going through a bathroom and a closet and doorways to get there. I also thought about boosting my wireless router but I don't know exactly how to do that.
Is there anyone out there who has a solution for me? Or, can anyone direct me to who I can call for help? I can't figure out if I should call Time Warner Cable, Samsung or Cisco.
Thanks in advance.
